Issue
You need business growth through diversity and inclusion.
You want a detailed diversity and inclusion (D&I)
strategy that:
- Aligns with
your key business priorities and delivers meaningful
business results.
- Takes into account your organization’s
present cultural competence and readiness for change.
You
may be:
- The CEO, another senior executive, or the head
of HR who wants to move forward on achieving key business
results through diversity and inclusion quickly and efficiently
- that is, use diversity as a business strategy.
- The Board of Directors that needs the company develop
a diversity strategy.
- A company-wide or business unit
diversity organization or council that needs to learn
how diversity and inclusion can be a core business strategy
and pull together a solid plan.
- Someone who has been asked to pull together
a diversity plan, is new to the diversity and inclusion
field, and seeks assistance from experts who have personally “been
there and done that” in a Fortune 100 company.
- Someone who need a diversity and inclusion strategy
that develops intercultural / cultural competence, truly
engages your leadership, and achieves meaningful business
results.
Solution
A diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategic planning
off-site is an intensive hands-on session. We tailor the
content and design to your needs. Typically the session
combines learning and planning.
The learning is about a practical strategic
planning process that considers diversity and inclusion
as a core business strategy. We call this Business-Aligned® diversity
and inclusion. We identify (1) your key business goals,
(2) changes that you need in your workforce and work environment
to help achieve these key business goals, and (3) specific
diversity and inclusion initiatives that will help realize
these changes.
The planning deliverables typically includes
a set of Business-Aligned® diversity and inclusion
initiatives and related metrics with clear accountability
for progress and results. Deliverables may also include
a communication plan, lists of skills and competencies
needed to implement the plan, and other elements specific
to your situation.
We
recommend assessing the senior leadership team’s
intercultural competence so the strategy can be adapted
to their readiness for this type of change. The Intercultural
Development Inventory (IDI) provides this insight. If these
leaders participate personally, the off-site design may
also incorporate team and/or individual developmental coaching.
To
help ensure a successful outcome, participants must have
a solid understanding of the organization’s key business
goals and the current workforce and work environment. Participants
should also be capable of effecting change in the organization.
Ideally the CEO and senior executive team participate personally
although this is not necessary.
