Situation:
A keynote speech was needed to open and set the context for a day-long international annual diversity workshop. The focus was on designing effective measurement and metric plans for a diversity and inclusion strategy.

Solution:
The speech highlighted the nature of metrics and their relationship to the results that are achieved. The need to align with business priorities was illustrated and a planning model to implement these techniques was presented. Linkages to the rest of the day helped prepare people for their overall experience at the workshop.

Outcome:
The session was extremely well received by the audience. The Program Director still remarks about the outstanding session almost two years afterward.

Situation:
A State Bar Association was holding a diversity conference as part of its continuing legal education program. They needed a keynote speaker with practical experience at a large corporation to address their participants. The attorneys wanted to hear leading-edge insights and perspective about diversity in corporate America.

Solution:
A keynote address was developed about diversity and inclusion from these perspectives:
  • How diversity and inclusion can generate improved business results for corporations, professional service firms, non-profits, associations, government agencies, and other types of organizations.
  • How a law firm might use its focus on diversity and inclusion as a competitive differentiator.
  • How corporations or other large businesses might focus law firms on improving diversity in the legal profession.
Outcome:
The attorneys saw these new perspectives and the speech was well received.

Situation:
A group of executives needed to learn more about leading-edge concepts in accountability for diversity and inclusion.

Solution:
An interactive briefing / workshop was designed. Accountability was considered from the perspectives of the diversity practitioner, leadership at all levels, and individual contributors. Each aspect of accountability was explored to understand its nature and key motivators. A practical model was provided for using this in individual work situations.

Outcome:
The session was very well received. Many people provided feedback that it was the best session they had experienced and that they would be able to apply the concepts in their own work.

Situation:
A large national Fraternity was providing a leadership development workshop to all its Chapter Presidents. The Fraternity wanted this development done from a perspective of diversity and inclusion.

Solution:
A keynote address was developed that highlighted how to use diversity and inclusion to inform and guide one’s personal leadership style.

Outcome:
The chapter Presidents learned the linkage and acquired specific tools to use diversity and inclusion to shape their individual leadership. They successfully applied this framework to the rest of their developmental work.
